Outer Hebrides Property gathers every property advertised for sale in the Outer Hebrides into one searchable list, keeps its price history, and shows how long it has been on the market. It is run from Stornoway.
Where the listings come from
Agents publish their listings on their own websites and on the island aggregator. This site reads those pages four times a day, records what changed, and rebuilds. Today it holds 326 live listings from 12 agents, plus 19 that have sold or been withdrawn since tracking started on 30 July 2026. Every listing page links back to the agent's own page, which is where you should enquire — we do not sell property, arrange viewings, or take a commission from anybody.
Photographs
Photographs belong to the agents who took them. They are shown here small, credited by name, and linked back to the agent's own listing on every page they appear. If you are an agent and would rather we did not show yours, email hello@outerhebridesproperty.co.uk and they come down the same day — no argument, no form to fill in. The same goes for a seller who wants their address off the site.
What the numbers mean
Prices are asking prices. Nobody publishes Hebridean sale prices, so this site does not pretend to know them. Time on the market is measured from the date the agent's own listing implies; where a property was already advertised before tracking started, that date is a floor and the figure is shown as "83+ days" rather than a bare number. Price history only runs from 30 July 2026, so a listing with no history is not necessarily a listing that has never moved — it is one we have not watched for long enough. Yield estimates are gross, divide a median rent from a very small sample by the asking price, and always carry the size of that sample.
Map pins
Where an address is specific enough to place, the pin is on the address. Where it is not, the pin sits at the centre of the area and the caption says so. There are no invented coordinates anywhere on this site.
Ads and tracking
There are none. No advertising, no pop-ups, no cookie banner, no account to create, nothing that follows you off the page. If that ever changes, it will be stated here first.
The colours
The palette is borrowed from Harris Tweed's natural dyes, which are drawn from this landscape directly: near-black from the west-coast gneiss, the off-white ground from shell sand, the teal from the shallow bays, and the rust from crotal, the rock lichen that was boiled for dye. The rust is used for exactly one thing on this site — a price that has moved.
Gaelic names
Area names carry their Gaelic form where a Gaelic speaker has confirmed it. Where one has not, the English name stands alone rather than a guess going up. If you spot a wrong or missing form, please tell us.
