About Lemreway
Lemreway (Leumrabhagh) is a crofting township in the Park district of Lewis, which adverts call South Lochs. It is near the far end of the bus route: the W9 from Stornoway calls at Gravir, then Lemreway, then Orinsay, where it turns back.
Lemreway is one of the 11 townships of the Pairc Estate. The estate passed from a private landlord to the community's Pairc Trust in December 2015, and the trust gives it as about 10,840 hectares with 213 crofts and around 400 people. The Commission's register data has 34 crofts at Lemreway, in the parish of Lochs, so the terms of any croft or house site matter as much as the house.
Primary pupils go to Pairc School at Gravir, the stop before Lemreway on the W9, which the council lists as serving Lemreway, and secondary pupils to the Nicolson Institute in Stornoway. The W9 timetable marks the journeys that connect with the W10 Tarbert bus for the run to and from Stornoway.
